Sunday, 20 July 2008
Following the establishment of a specialist governance team, Melbourne member firm, Clements Dunne & Bell, has introduced the first in a series of seminars on corporate governance.Neville Rose says the focus of the first seminar offered a practical application of governance for SMEs and not-for-profit businesses.
“The practical application of governance in the board room can be a challenge for many chief executive officers and directors,” says Neville.
“Our team is focused on developing solutions that helps boards to govern and managers to manage,” says Neville.
The seminar included a demonstration of The Australian Governance System (TAGS™), by guest speaker Michael Goldsworthy who has worked with over 4,500 boards and committees throughout Australia.
TAGS™ developed by Clements Dunne & Bell’s alliance partner, Australian Strategic Services Pty Ltd, is a comprehensive governance system covering governance principles, policies and procedures and easy to use tools, templates, packages and manuals.
“The seminar was a great success and attracted more than 30 chairpersons, CEOs and directors,” says Neville.
“The feedback received suggested the practical review of real life governance scenarios by attendees was very worthwhile.
